I have MSI Z170-a pro motherboard, 1070 gtx card, intel i5 7600, and 16gb adata d41 3200mhz ram. what should i upgrade? and will there be any problem if i upgrade my cpu?

pls help me haha thank you!

wow i just knew that! thank you. i know that my motherboard is outdated but i didnt expect it to be that bad! and do you have a recommendation for a new cheap great motherboard?
Your motherboard is not bad. Intel and AMD are never interchangeable. The best thing to do is go to the website for the motherboard and it will give you a list of all supported CPU’s.

For a R5 3600x Id look at either B450 Tomahawk Max or B450 Gaming Pro Carbon Max. It must be the ‘Max’ version to guarantee that 3000 series CPU’s are compatible out the box.

You can also look at the new B550 boards but I have not read all the reviews so wont recommend a specific board. These are more expensive but do have better features.

For your motherboard you can only put one of theese CPU:
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/z170-a-pro#support-cpu

Best cpu you can put in it is the i7-7700K that is a minor improvement over the i5 7600 you have https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-7700K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-7600/3647vs3890
Ryzen 5 3600X has some newer features but performancewise is on par with i7-7700K
https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-7700K-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-3600X/3647vs4041
And your current cpu is not that bad compared to ryzen 5 3600x
https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-7600-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-3600X/3890vs4041

It's not a bad motherboard, but it's intel and you must stick to intel cpu from that list. For AMD there are other motherboards that will only work with AMD cpu's

For gaming, your current cpu is very good. Stick with it. GPU is also still good

There is room for improvement but i'd wait. If you have the money you can build a new rig but to feel any substantial difference you must go i9, ryzen9, threadripper, and rtx2080, titan and that area of GPU's. Better to stick with what you have and peek an eye for i7-7700K on second hand market if you can snag one cheap.. but don't bother too much since it's a just a minor improvement at best and does not worth investing in. In my area i7 7700k is still few hundred dolars second hand so pretty expensive still.
The GPU might benefiet of an upgrade if the price is right since 1070 has a lot of grunt but new rtx series 2080, 2070 are about twice the performance and 10 times the price. comparing the 1070 with amd rx5700xt is not that much of a diffrence
https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-RX-5700-XT-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1070/4045vs3609

End conclusion: Your rig is a decent performer for today and stick with it unless you want to splurge on a new ultra high end GPU.

I have an i7 9700 cpu & GTX 1660 super gpu with 32gb ram, my cpu still goes to 100% when playing warzone call of duty. BUT MY COMPUTER doesn't actually slow down at all :) maybe yours is not slower but just says usage at 100%?
