would i be able to run a rx 550 on a 280hz monitor with the native 280hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution without issues?

i dont play big games i mainly play like geometry dash and i can usually hit 2k fps on there. i just need to know if my gpu will only hit 240hz or can it really hit 280hz.

2,000 fps is pretty much 2,000hz since hz is number of times a second the monitor refreshes the screen. However buying a 280 hz monitor for simple games is akin to buying a solid gold diamond crusted fork to eat a 30 cent cup of ramen noodles.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

There's a thumbrule that goes around here. If you can afford a display that is say 1000USD, you should be looking at a GPU that's priced similarly. You should pair a cheap entry level gaming GPU with an expensive monitor. That being said what is the make and model of your display?

the monitor is for 319 and the gpu is for like 60 but my gpu is said to run 240hz at 1440p and 120hz at 4k, i didnt wanna spend 600 just to get 280 fps on "geometry dash" and i can already get 2000 fps about already with fps bypass. i just want a high refresh rate for clearness

btw that doesnt answer my question that just tells me to spend money.

no.
dont spend 320 on a monitor and 60 on a gpu

get a 1660 super or a rx5600 and a 200$ monitor.

theres a bunch of awesome displays eith 1080p abd 144hz for 150-200$ right now.

OP, your real question should be
"i need to check the data available for the RX550 , is the DISPLAY OUTPUT ABLE to run at 280hz ?"

my answer :
https://www.amd.com/en/partner/radeon-rx550-rx560

"The Radeon™ RX 550 is compatible with a new generation of monitors that would make any gamer excited: 1080p at 240Hz, 1440p at 240Hz, 4K at 120 Hz - even 1440p ultra-wide at 190Hz. "

so, max refresh at 1080p is 240hz
can your games do it at that resolution ? well i think nobody tested, really

(if my answer was helpfull select it as best answer please :) )
