Hi! Every time I set the multiplier to 43 in the BIOS and reboot it, it shows 4.2 ghz in the BIOS, and through CPU-Z. What the hell?

All the voltages are currently set to default. I've tried pushing the core voltage, thinking it was me hitting instability and the board was resetting itself, but it has had no effect.

Intel Core i7 2600k
MSi P67A-GD65 w/ B3 Step BIOS version 1.8
Corsair H70 cooler
Corsair 1000HX PSU
8 gig Mushkin 'Redline' DDR3 @ 1600 mhz
AMD HD 6970

It is dead stable at 4.2 ghz. Prime 95 is running on the desktop as I type this on my mac.

Any thoughts on why it won't move? Is this a motherboard problem?

Had the same issue on mine, exact mobo. I tweaked some power savings stuff and it let me go more. Running 4.6 with a cheap arctic pro rev 2 @ 1.28 vcore, I'm happier then a fox in a hen house. Going to order a SSD today, tired of waiting for the OCZ 3.

Hers my new setup, I am going to buy some sleaving and clean it up a little more. Going to upgrade to a 5870 as well.

I am having almost the same issue except just in the OS. I am running this board with the 2600k processor and the bios reflects a multiplier of 50, but the CPU using control center of cpuid will show a max multiplier of 43. I have flashed using many bios versions, but the same issue exists.
