Short question this time.

Will a push of the OC genie button really get the 875k to 3.7+ Ghz?

I've heard people with this setup (and MSI themselves) claim as high as 4 Ghz with only OC genie.

What cpu cooler do you have?

If you are running the stock cooler, don't even think about it.

As for OCing with OC Genie: bad idea
It will overvolt your system so it can say it's stable without any regard for system longevity, temps or anything else OCers must consider when OCing a system.

I wouldn't think about doing that. You bought a COMPLETELY UNLOCKED I7, you should put it to the test and overclock by yourself. Because as RJR and Wolfram23 problems can occur, and also you'd be getting a better overclock by yourself. OH and by your choice of CPU you should get a good-high end cpu cooler to cool it. The V8 I have is barely keeping the 955 at 3.7 or 4.0 cool. It is but on 100% fan. Use a Venomous X from Thermalright, that thing is a beast. Benchmarks prove so.

I just bought the i7 875k yesterday from Micro Center, upgrading my i5 750. I also have a MSI P55-GD65 board. I use the information from Tom's Hardware "Overclocked On Air: Intel's Core i5-750" to setup the 750, will that same info work for the 875k as well? Oh, and stay away from that OC Genie chiefsfan27129, it overvolts your system really bad!
