ICON HELP IN XP

I have Windows XP Professional and I started up the computer today and I realised the Internet Explorer icon on my desktop has changed to a shitty looking one. Is there anyway to change it back? Please reply.

Why do you even have an IE icon on your desktop? Isn't IE on the Quick Start section of the task bar?
Anyway, see if you didn't accidentally go to 16-bit color, then check the "advanced" settings on display properties' "appearance" tab.

What exactly do you mean? The icon's changed? Colours aren't right?
