[SOLVED] Identifying port/what cable is needed?

Hello! So, I have recently moved into a new room and I was told by the landlord and flatmate the previous tenant had a wired connection to the router, however, I've never seen this port so I was hoping you fine people can help me identify it?

I'm terribly sorry for the poor image quality, there wasn't much space to take the picture due to the awkward position that it is in. To clarify, the port is a bit smaller than an ethernet cable's head.

Hard to see for sure but if you live in the UK that is the type of telephone jack used there. If not we need a better photo.

You normally can't use that type of jack to hook a pc to a router. Someone may have rewired it but it generally you can only hook a telephone to it or a router that contains a DSL modem.

I would try plugging an ethernet cable that's connected to nothing and see if it fits. Doesn't mean it's ethernet, but there's a good chance if it fits.
