If your modem is bad would your router help your internet connection

i am trying to set up my wireless internet but it says that my modem is bad but i can still use the internet but not the wireless internet

Something isn't quite right here. A MODEM makes the connection with the Internet so if it isn't working, you can't get online. A router spreads that connection around your own network, either by wire or wirelessly so your network will work even if you can't get all the way to the Net. Some routers have MODEMs built in - what is the make and model of yours?[/#000ff]
