I'm confused

So, I'm hearing all this stuff about nVidia Trying to take down Intel. I really don't understand. What is "680i"?

I know I sound like a nub, but I'm upgrading my comp, and I would like to know.

Well 680i is a chipset made from NVIDIA for Intel CPUs(Core2Duo CPUs , Core2Quads and next 45nm CPUs) which lets you to use 2 Cards(SLI) @ Dual 16x mode.
