Earlier this month, I got a Radeon 9800 Pro (AGP), and it's an awesome card,
but I'm going to upgrade my 1.2 system to something a little more modern
this weekend. Here's what I'm planning on getting:

ASUS A8V (Rev 2.0) Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3800 Processor
1 GB DDR memory

Of course, planning and purchasing are two different things... I'll give an
update on what I actually got after it's all installed.

Good deal! Are you going to get Sims2 now, too?

Jeanie waved a magic wand at the 'puter, changed into a moose (OOPS!) -
tried again and came up with:

If I have money left over, yes. Otherwise it will wait until next month's
pension check.

I have that board (have had 2 of them now) and despite the problems I had
with the first one, it's a great board! I think the first one I had was just
a bad board but I'm glad I bought another one. I have the 3500 Winchester.
Love it!

Well, that's what I got, but I got more as well...
New Keyboard (Microsoft Multimedia KB)
New tower case
Windows XP Home edition
The Sims 2
Sims 2 University

Total cost for everything (not including The Sims 2 games) was $622. I
picked up the games at Sam's Club for $70 for both.
