[SOLVED] In need of help

I have recently gotten a new hard drive and i am having trouble setting it up. I have it plugged into the power supply and can hear it start up once i do so, i also have it plugged into my motherboard but when i go to storage on my computer its not their, any suggestions?

Ok. The hdd should be working fine then.

Right click on the unallocated section and click create new simple volume.

You can click the menus (you dont need to change anything unless you want to) and it will give the HDD a drive letter and it will show up in file explorer, ready to have data written to it.
the link it gave me for the image isnt working when i try upload it to this link using the insert image, but on my disk managment it has registered the the hard drive but says its unallocated
