install os on hard drive

Ive had trouble installing an os on a hard drive, so iwas wondering if it is possible, to bootup the pc with my other pcs hard drive in and attach the new drive as a slave, and then install an os on the 2nd hard drive while booted up on the working drive

Is this possible and how do i go about it ?

not really. unless the other computer is an exact copy internally as the other one windows will either not boot at all or will have lots of errors loading drivers for stuff that is not there.
Can you give more info on the problem you are haveing with the hard drive and we might be able to solve it.

why dont you tell us what problem causes you not to be able to install an os in that broken hd. what error do you get?
