Installed Memory vs RAM Usable by Windows My CPU? SOLVED!

Hay Guys!

I had 4GB Ram and just got 4 more.

First off my ram was just fine last night, Windows showed 4gb and used 4gb.

I got 4 more GB today installed it and played around a bit to get the timings right and saved.

I'm in Windows now, (Win 7 64bit) and it shows 8GB 3GB usable.

So, I took the 4GB out I just installed restarted and it now say 4GB 3gb usable.


What Happen!

And Yea, Coincidentally I Have the same problem!


I'm running a Q9650 stock, 8GB Corsair 1600 at 1333, 790I Ultra Mobo.


I tried resetting bios settings ect.

It shows 8GB in Bios.


You think its a Bad memory controller?

Well.

I think I found out my CPU doesn't even Have a Memory controller.

It's controlled by the chip set.


Now what? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Solved!

Sorry about that Guys.

I fixed it.


What it was, Was in the System setting Advanced options was the Memory amount was on, but set at 0, so it automatically took 3gb, because it needed it.

good to hear this, please can you direct me on how to solve this issue cos am having the same problem with my installed and usable RAM.
