Installing 64gb ram on asus p9x79 ws

I am trying to figure out, searching online but couldn't find any answers.
Basically, do you really have to have all 64gb (8x8gb) sticks from the same set to work?
If I get 2 sets of 32gb (4x8gb), will it work?
Now second question will be, probalby with 1 set of 64gb, I am able to use XMP?
With 2 sets I can't? But they are exactly same memory, just 2 different sets at 32gb per set

It depends on the Frequency + CAS, and for the higher Frequencies then IMO yes it's best to get an 8x8GB single kit.

Examples (2) Kits of the same 4x8GB kit; greatest variable is the CAS Timings:
DDR3-1333 - 95% chance of working
DDR3-1600 - 75% chance of working
DDR3-1866 - 50% chance of working
DDR3-2133 - 25% chance of working

The mixed-kits might all work, but not necessarily at their RATED Frequencies and CAS Timings. In most instances that I can think of 64GB running >DDR3-1600 isn't a 'good' idea. I am assuming some form of Rendering (Data or Graphical), and each step in Frequency only shaves-off a very tiny bit of time. So the thought is at best a few minutes on a large job vs an error/crash wasting a lot more time.
 
What if it's 2 kit of the same frequency, this is what I was refering, I don't want to mix the frequencies, but seeing how sometimes buying 2 32gb kit can be cheapper than buying 64gb (8x8gb) kit.

Then with buying 2 kits of (4x8gb) from the same manuefacture say for examble gskill 2 set of F3-12800CL10Q-32GBZL, wil it work without issues?

Two kits of F3-12800CL10Q-32GBZL IMO 50%/50% even DDR3-1600 10-10-10-30-2N, but will probably work @ DDR3-1333. You're not going to get better results than the fully matched 8x8GB kit of F3-12800CL10Q2-64GBZL (read the reviews, not good) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231508

64GB (8x8GB) isn't a 'walk in the park'. Now while someone like myself might have better luck using XMP + manual tweaks <or> full manual settings of everything, 8GB/stick density is tricky higher than DDR3-1333 CAS 9. Further, 9.9/10 >DDR3-1600 would require VCCSA and VTT Voltages on the edge of not damaging the CPU and/or RAM.

If I may ask, why 64GB of RAM?
 
well, I probably don't need 32gb, but originally I was planning to use ram disk of 32 gb, and ram cache of another 16gb for other hd, and 16gb for win7 system

I guess on the safer side, I can do 4x8gb and using 16gb for ram disk, and 8/8 for ram cache and system.

Hi jaqith,

I'm looking at building a new Z79, I got that you thought the Rampage IV extreme is perhaps the best.
What 64 gb mem kit would you recommend ?

Here's the problem, the SB-E @ Default 'SPD' DDR3-1333 looses 200MHz or 3.6GHz (K) or 3.7GHz (X) so you really want a DDR3-1600 or faster set -- the problem is those are crazy expensive and the F3-12800CL10Q2-64GBZ is a mixed bag.

The Corsair (2 Sets) CMP32GX3M4X1600C10 can work, but you'll need to, more than likely, tweak the BIOS settings to get it to work properly.
