What parts would you recommend for an i7 14700k build? I know the issues with the intel chips lately, but i've always wanted a 14700k pc
What parts would you recommend? My budget is abt £2k ish

you should be a lot more specific.

for heavy gaming; which games in particular, at what settings?
for work; which software, what type of projects?
what size; full size tower, iTX mini-machine, etc?
aesthetics; custom LEDs everywhere, specific color chassis+, no LEDs, etc?
peripherals; mouse/keyboard, monitor, etc?

I had a great experience with my build, zero compatibility issues and smooth as silk. No graphics card yet, so hopefully that upgrade won't rain on my parade.

Aside from the primary issue with the 13 and 14th gen CPU, there is an article out (possibly here) that says Intel is running low on replacements. I don't know if these are still in production since 15th gen is right around the corner. Not so much that I am suggesting to wait. There is always a reason to wait, and often many not to. In this case and with the aforementioned issues I am taking a wait and see stance on 15th gen to see whether they are reliable.

It'll be for heavy gaming, for 1440p high settings on games such as FH5, and some triple a titles on high 1440p
Size-the case probably mid tower atx at most
Peripherals, yes and monitor too
Which keyboards and mice are known to be good?

Have 3 of these at work, minus the GPU for CAD, they are running PNY A4500
CPU stays perfectly fine while doing 100% load renders

Just a side note, when building and on first bootup you do not get video, A use onboard or B install the GPU in a lower PCI-e slot. Install the latest BIOS and then move the GPU back to the top.

If your BIOS is not compatible with the CPU any PCI lanes controlled by the CPU will not work... so the top PCI-e slot and the M.2 next to the CPU. I spent half a day trouble shooting this till i did a BIOS update and everything started working.

You should consider Ryzen.

The issues with Intel's 13th/14th Gen has not been resolved. Check this out:

I wouldn't touch Intel with a barge pole right now!

the be quiet! Shadow Base 800 is still only ~$80 on Amazon.
a very nice option at a very low price.

Which keyboards and mice are known to be good?
i love my Corsair K70 LUX brown switch keyboard.
very nice button response, media controls, and some other personalization options.
also offers RGB options but i just keep it mostly white.

but, the Keychron C3 Pro QMK/VIA is currently going for ~$37 on Amazon.
nice price for a very nice compact mechanical option.

for a mouse i'd say it's a very personalized choice.
there are so many sizes, weights, button layouts, and other aesthetic attributes that it is something the user should really research themselves.
maybe take some time and visit some local shops and electronics retailers and see what they have on display that you can feel & test to get a sense of what really suits your own preferences.
personally, i require as many thumb buttons as possible and hopefully scroll wheel left/right tilt clicking.
my two current favorites i use are the Logitech G600 & the Corsair Vengeance M95.

monitor too
one good priced very nice option currently available:
the LG - UltraGear 32” at Best Buy.
though if this is a primarily gaming system, i'd look into some 21:9 ultra-wide displays.

for your system internals, you've got some good suggestions from other members above.
but if currently have a system that's at least viable for now;
i would hold off on the rest until the next generation of both AMD & Intel drops to see what's next in line and for current gen series to drop in price.

On the cusp of a new socket from Intel anyway. Arrow Lake might be worth waiting for. October 24th.

In terms of retail, seems the 14700K is still in stock. Just that they are having supply issues for replacing what is already out there. They might start dropping off of stores soon then.

I was going to get a 14700K myself, even at its cheapest price at Microcenter so far, and Black Friday might see some sales. But with Bartlett Lake as an option, I may just wait it out or make the switch to a 9800X3D when the time comes.
