Since you are running 64gb of 2133mhz memory you could experiment dropping the memory speed down so you're not overclocking the CPUs memory controller to 1866mhz, 1600mhz, or even 1333mhz and tighten the timings at the lower memory speeds and see if that drops you CPUs overall temperature to push higher multipliers.

You're adding heat to the CPU by overclocking the CPUs memory controller past it's design specifications, and I fully understand going past design specifications is what overclocking is all about, but in your case it may be also holding your multiplier level hostage.

You could try 1600mhz at 9,9,9,24 or 25 at a 2T command rate @ 1.50v and see what happens with your temperatures by just changing that for a test.

If you don't mind would you list the exact memory module model #s and specs of the 2133mhz modules you are running?

This is the exact model: F3-2133C9Q2-64GZH

It's actually rated for 2133 so I'm not overclocking it. Just loaded the XMP profile.

I actually tinkered around with it initially at standard 1600 without any XMP profile (increased voltage) and dropped down to 2 sticks and that didn't make a difference.

It's looking like the best I'm going to get with this chip is 4.7 unless I go to some elaborate custom water cooling configuration.

I think that is the highest validation I have actually seen on a Q6600... :D

There's only 1 higher.. ;) and that could change,maybe.

Go... Go... GOOOOO!!!!!

If you break it then we have a record holder in our community. And THAT should be a badge in itself!

Keep us updated. Im sure jpishgar can make a plan for something special. ;)

Not an unlocked 2600, but I've done what I can. Slightly increased bus speed and permanent turbo boost with the speed stepping/power saving features disabled. Also, the idle temp is high because I accidentally installed the second fan backwards when I validated. It's fixed now.

The temps are really jumpy. Most of the time its ~72 degrees...
