Yep, I know you are clueless to how AM3 is scored.

Second, in just some of the links that I need to spoon feed you guys with (as if there were not 100K other links on me from google were not enough) you would find all sorts of benchmarks. Oddly are not valid to anyones scale here.

Maybe I should have linked to stocksystems.com

You're right, all of your unsubstantiated claims, and requests to go find the info ourselves has forced me to come down from trying to be unbiased to deciding that Intel is the best CPU manufacturer ever, and nothing AMD makes is worth a damn.

In fact, I am going to use this if I am ever on trial. "I'm innocent, I swear, just go look aroung and find the proff and you'll see that I'm right..." I'll get off free in a second.

BTW, what are you trying to prove, by jumping into a discussion on Intels marketing practices and the relative merits of the two companies offerings with a bunch of claims about how far you can OC your Intel compared to AMD chips? That has nothing to do with this topic.

Out of curiosity, what is the highest you have ever overclocked an AMD processor?? You have showed us Intel's capacity, how well have you done with AMD? Or haven't you tried? Not that I care, since I won't be buying AMD again.

You must be mistaken, Fuggers rig isn't up there.

J/K 😀 All due respect for getting your PC that high, even though you are pretty arrogant about it.

Wow, that was smart of me. Thanks for the info (and not flaming me for it!)

~Ibrahim~

You're welcome, all those systems though are huge cluster arrays, Intel and AMD hold the entire desktop market almost, with the exception of the Macintosh's.

EDIT: A few of those Top 500 use Xeon's and Opteron 64 CPU's.

Yes but Mac is not sporting Intel...so you have to include that in the Intel branch.

Apple only has plans to use the Intel CPU's in their Mobile Platform, their Desktop computers are going to use IBM's new PowerPC 6 Processors IIRC.

Orly?? Well I stand corrected 😀

AND HERE IS MY MOTHER F*CKING PROOF!

Aquamark is a FRAUD!!!

All these scores are nothing but a 3 decimal point FPS SCORE! LOOK!

Every picture has some stupid score representing thousands of points. But in ever right hand corner for the humungous score is a FPS that is nearly the damn same, save one decimal! What kind of frakkikng wool are you trying to pull over our eyes??? My god, I can't beleive how hooked Fugger is on this 149, 708 score!! Its not your SCORE!!! Its your FPS!!! Thats just a cute way for Aquamark to make your feel good sbout your system. I bet anyone with a crossfire X1900XTX gfx system could get roughtly equal "points"

Go back to your rock and hide!

LOL, that 8 looks like a middle finger!

Mike, I am beginning to see why you are the way you are when STUPID people try to push their stupidity on you. My god, it makes me crazy how this guy was touting how great his computer is. If I had a FX-57 stock and dual X1900XTX on Crossfire, I would probably get a score close to that 149,708. What utter bullsh*t! Its a glorified FPS score, that makes the user think they have such a great system.

FRAUD!

On a related note, Mike and I are actually more alike than I thought. It dawns on me I treat stupid people is real life the way he does here on the forums. Stupid people deserve to be shown their stupidity, so they may learn to be a little less stupid.

Stupid people deserve to be shown their stupidity, so they may learn to be a little less stupid.

" The truly smart man knows how much he does not know."

Alas, you cannot show stupid people how stupid they are, whether it be online, in life, wherever, as they are too stupid to realize it.

The Mini Mac is not a mobile platform.

This is too easy.

Abraxas, those are very very old scores. a good system with dual video cards scores 120K + AMD or Intel. I just happen to have the highest known score, find one higher and I stand corrected.

God, please smite those who do not see the truth.

The truth about your "score" is that its nothing but a 3 decimal place FPS score, but the decimal is a comma. Your score is a facsimile of the FPS mark in the right corner. Who says you have the highest?? Maybe someone out there hasnt posted theirs yet.

I am tired of arguing the foolishness of this Aquamark scoring system, I am going to play HOMMV Beta, and enjoy some TBS fun.

Obviously you don't understand what IIRC means, it stands for If I Recall Correctly, meaning I might be wrong. I am not a Mac-Fiend, I know a friend who is a God with Macs but my specialty is PC's.

What does your synthetic benchmark score have to do with topic of this thread? Or indeed with proving anything?

Despite false rumors, AM3 is not a synthetic benchmark. It is based on Massive?? game engine found in aquanox and a few other games. I am not sure if it belongs to Massive or another developer now.

Synthetic would imply that it was calculating based on frequencies and doesnt actually do anything.

The reason you guys would rule out Sandra or Everest is because you have no chance at putting up a comperable score.

First off, there is no such thing as a «PowerPC 6» (only POWER6, which is a completely different matter).

In "MacIntoshian" words:

«PowerPC G5 Processor. Introducing the world’s first 64-bit desktop processor.»

Whaaat?!

http://www.apple.com/hardware/

In Steve Jobs words:

«We are going to make the transition from PowerPC to Intel processors, and we are going to do it for you now, and for our customers next year. Why? Because we want to be making the best computer for our customers looking forward (...)
I stood up here two years ago and promised you 3.0 GHz. I think a lot of you would like a G5 in your PowerBook, and we haven’t been able to deliver that to you (...)
But as we look ahead, and though we’ve got great products now, and great PowerPC products still to come, we can envision great products we want to build, and we can’t envision how to build them with the current PowerPC roadmap (...)
Intel processors provide more performance per watt than PowerPC processors do (...)
When we look at future roadmaps, mid-2006 and beyond, we see PowerPC gives us 15 units of performance per watt, but Intel’s roadmap gives us 70. (...)»

Only time will tell. But it seems clear that the man is decided to change platforms... definitely, for the better & the worst.

Cheers!

Actually, no. Its because I don't operate my computer on a daily basis in Sandra or Everest thank you.

And you still have yet to provide even one valid item of evidence for any claim other than that your computer is fast, which I have already agreed to and indeed gave you respect for.

I already said I am not a MAC expert, so I was probaly wrong. I was simply trying to respond to a post, I don't see a need to constantly remind me after I have noticed on my error.

Allow me to correct you. The Mac mini IS in fact a mobile platform. It uses the Intel core solo/duo chips which are designed for mobile use.

While you can call it a desktop, the guts of it are merely a modified laptop IMO.

Napa is a desktop spec as well, supporting dual processor with dual cores.

My point was the Mini was not intended as a mobile machine (pointing out the obvious)

That is very true. But if you take a very small generator with you and duct tape the mini to the top of it, along with your mac mini mouse, keyboard and say, a laptop screen, you'll have one hell of a very portable machine

Everest and Sandra are synthetic benchmarks, AM3 is not. Not sure that you caught what I was saying.

Its easy to falsely inflate Sandra score with known bugs, anything over 79% efficiancy (DDR2) on Intel is bugged.

If one were to look, I have images of dual socket 480 posted as well as "non Intel" desktop chipsets for Yonah.

The public should feel more Yonah after Cebit as many manufactures are keeping quiet for that release. I am bound as well on a few things and plan on more releases over the next week.
