Hi All.
I have an old Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Xi 3650 which I absolutely love. It has been with me for a decade and I will never get rid of it.
It has the current Specs of
Processor : Intel T9600 2.8Ghz
RAM : 8GB (2x4GB DDR3)
GPU : 512MB nVidia GeForce 9600M GT (OC to 755/920/1650)
SSD x 1
HDD x 1
Blu-Ray Drive x 1
18.4" 1920x1080 dual lamp display
Its still wonderful to use as an every day machine and Windows 10 runs flawlessly.
Now the problem
I wanted to put an X9100 in it as it is the best processor available for the notebook, I had seen people using them before and successfully getting 3.4Ghz with throttlestop just a bit of bump from the 2.8ghz T9600
I ordered one from china for the low price of £17 as it was almost negligible in cost from a reputable seller, But when I tried it all that happens is the power light glows and the fan spins then 5 Seconds later it switches off.
I wrote back saying I think its fried, They however wanted to know if I could test on another machine to confirm. I didn't have a spare Core2 series laptop about (Only i5's) so now they are accepting it back on the condition that it is damaged but will not refund if it pass's tests there.
My question is, Would you agree its a faulty item? or shall I cut my loss's and go with a compatibility issue and stick it in a drawer?
Footnote : No I don't want a T9900 because they can still run around £40-£50 and that's just a waste of money.
Thanks for the Help!!
