Intels real fear......AMD?

I think Intel's real fear is that I'll buy the wireless mouse, gamepad and base station at CompGeeks for just $28.50+shipping, as opposed to the ~$140 (IIRC) that they charged when they first came out.

Fear? What is that?

I do not believe in hate and suffering, do you? :)

What is Nvidia banking on right now? Doesn't take a computer geek to figure that one out. The only thing that intel has to brag about......chipsets!!

I assume you are speaking of nForce. This is nVidia's very first chipset ever. They have a long road to travel to become a major competitor in this arena. I am not all that impressed so far. Their chipset offers more bandwidth than the processor can use and it is more expensive than most can afford. They should have trimmed a bit of that memory bandwidth in favor of a reduced price.

If you are asking what I might be afraid of, then it does matter what I think of it.

As far as your ascertion that the lack of fear means arrogance, I disagree. Fear means "a feeling of agitation and anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger." I simply see no danger here. I cannot see a competitor's product as being dangerous if it does not impress me.

If you think chipsets are the only good thing Intel has produced in the last year or so, you are either blind, biased or just plain stupid, and I don't know which (but probably biased).

Their wireless desktop products are very high quality, the ones I ordered mentioned above.

Their networking gear has always been good, perhaps second to 3Com.

And also, the P4 has proven itself a good processor in certain respects to anyone who does not have their head firmly wedged between their buttocks.
