iphone 7 plus issues, wifi

basically i had an issue with my phone where i could not even turn wifi on it was greyed out so i restarted my phone and it fixed that but then after i connect it says im connecte but whenever i try to go on fb or messenger it says im offline im super confused

Reset network settings by performing these steps:

Open Settings app.
Tap General.
Tap Reset.
Tap Reset Network Settings.
If prompted, enter your passcode.
Tap Reset Network Settings.

hey jo i did that it seemed to work for a little bit but it eventually cuts off the wifi, now its permanently off i dont even have the option to switch it on anymore, its like "greyed" out if that makes sense

That could be caused by either a software/firmware or a hardware issue.
Try turning the phone off the power it back on and see if it works.

If it is a software (firmware) issue you might be able to fix it by restoring the firmware via DFU mode.
Make sure to backup your phone...just in case.

If it is a hardware issue then DFU mode won't fix a thing or even worse the phone could stop working...so continue at your own risk.
