Is Badcompany 2 multiplayer any good?

I head you about chasing someone down for AMMO or Band-aids. I play with a few people that were left over from our BF2142 clan. There are 6 of us I believe. They all know each other and are from Texas, me and my buddy are from PA. We just make a Skype conference call. It is easier than teamspeak except we have to call each other and what not. Thinks get to busy to hit a teamspeak button and it doesn't sound as good. First think the one guy says at the beginning of a round is "Call out your kits" we make sure we cover Assault, Medic, and Engineer. When I play by myself I find myself jumping to different squads untill I find a good one. If someone asks for AMMO, you give it to them ASAP.

Haha, band-aids. I NEED A BAND-AID FOR MY BULLET WOUND PRONTO!!!

Yeah I am finding it hard to play in random games without at least one of our team members there. I do the same thing. I hop around the squads until I find someone who seems to be interested in teaming up, otherwise, it just isn't fun night.

I am confused as to why Dice hasn't put in a mic setup menu yet like in 2142. I wonder if they are down playing the VOIP on purpose or if they just haven't got to it yet.

Oh, is that right spinach? None of our teammates were online all day yesterday and it sucked for me lol
Random games do suck, but you get to be selfish so its a bit easier.
The disorganization gets annoying tho. I find that if you set objective, people usually go to them, though.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

-relatively faster online match start. compared to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, however, and taking into account the

lobby wait, the CoD 4 is ~ 30-40 seconds faster. The MW2 faster net code comes at the gigantic price of almost double

the lag, sudden game lobby crashes, no punkbuster, cheaters, etc.

-heavily kill based game for the lone player. Killstreaks are obvious sign that this game was meant for people who just

want to jump on and kill as many other players as they can. very little team work involved if any.

Battlefield Bad Company 2

-relatively slower online match start. compared to CoD 4 and MW2 load times seem a bit longer but this comes with

game stability, very little lag, dedicated servers, punkbuster, and very very VERY few cheaters.

-heavily team based game. you must join a squad if you want your TEAM to win. There really is no I in team. There

are squad bonuses for repairing, healing, spotting, etc.

All in all I think if you will only get 1 get Battlefield Bad Company 2 if and only if you want to cooperate with a team.

Otherwise get MW2 however be wary that the lack of dedicated servers imbalances alot of players because of host advantage

All in all...Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare F.T.W :)

I didnt like the singleplayer at bfbc2 at all, but the multiplayer is cool. Just boring when you being spawn killed, slow respawning, i started to play with engineer and impossible to kill people mid-long range woth primary wep (at least the first like 5weps), FRIENDLY Medics kill you and then revive you again (or attack you and then heal you)

Nope 😴

I have to say, I hated the single player. I only played it for an hour and haven't seen it since. The multiplayer is the meat and potatoes of the game. I haven't encountered any medics doing that yet. Join their squad and shoot them in the face when ever you see them. Maybe throw in a ferocious french taunting to take them completely by surprise. Eventually they will get sick of respawning all of the time and just leave.

I haven't seen any medics doing that either. But it's kind of funny to think about. I think I would taunt and hound someone if I saw them doing that. I admit, I've accidentally killed my teammates before. sometimes you just can't see their name in green above them because you are in a tree and the just spawned from your butt.

I just finished unlocking all the kits last night and I went back to trying the recon kit. I was HORRIBLE. I forgot how to be a sniper. haha. It probably doesn't help that we were playing on a new map and the other team was in our un-cap. I had that. That is one thing I wish they would have done it make our uncap out of bounds for them in some maps. If you team sucks and lets the battle come back to your base, it is horrible to try and spawn, blah.

It was like that in the beta though.... Port Valdez had an out of bounds for the attacking team at their hill. I actually haven't thought about that until now. Is it just in rush modes that the uncaps are out of bounds for the defending team or is it just Port Valdez? I can only recall being base raped in conquest mode now that I think about it....

Yeah I can't remember the names of the maps. Come to think of it I can't remember people's names so how the heck am i going to remember map names. haha. Now that you say something it may just be conquest, because there really is not uncap in rush. But if you think of it, isn't that the point of the attackers, to overtake our M-coms in your spawn area. But I have been in many maps where teh 3 control points are taken by the enemy and they push you to the uncap. OR they have one or two guys who just sit in your uncap for fun. It's bad etiquette to camp the opposing teams uncap. In BF2142 alot of times it was a server roll and you were kicked because of it.

^^ True, but its less of a problem then in BF2, where you could only spawn on the Squad Leader, instead of anyone in squad. Much easier to break out and hit a rear point in BC2. This is also helped by lack of a see all UAV/SCAN.

Also, I could have sworn that if no point is selected, the spawn is psudo-random. Haven't played much conquest though...

I think it's a shame that the asymetric playing areas used in rush weren't used in the conquest to protect home spawns. I have seen vehicle stealing, and baseraping on occasion particularly on the desert map (can't remember the name) where the 3 control points are linear between the spawns where imbalance on sides can make it virtually impossible to leave the spawn. Some protection - other than gentlemens rules - would at least give a chance for a whole side to spawn, take vehicles and come out en masse before being blasted by the helicopter and tanks.

I understand why teh changes were made though. Even if you had an area the other team couldn't enter, it would still be a one way street out, and would actually be easier to lock opponents into if all the points were taken. Nevermind teh point would be far enough back as to make getting to the points take a lot longer.

AGain, with the ability to spawn on anyone in squad, its not that hard to break a base camp, as any one person getting out can lead to at least a single point flipping sides within half a minute or so.

I gotta say, I got BC2 a couple of weeks ago and LOVE it. I also tried the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer free trial on steam over the weekend...l could honestly stomach it for about an hour. I also want to say that I loved the first Modern Warfare, played that on multiplayer for many many hours, but this game felt like a totally different animal. I felt like I was playing Unreal Tournament or something....it was kind of...cheesy. Just didn't "feel" right, or even like the first Modern Warfare.

But I'm having a blast playing BC2. Reminds me of how much I loved Battlefield 2, and now I can't wait for Battlefield 3.

Yes its good. Battle Field 2 was my game of choice when I was craving online play. Since BC2 has come out I haven't had even the slightest urge to go back. Sure I miss some elements of BF2 in this one. Such as teaming up with my little brother in a chopper and absolutely annihilating everyone, he flys I gun. Can't do that as well in BC2 due to the completely different chopper physics and removal of the TV guided missiles. But Even so the change is for the better as flying the choppers is now worlds easier, making it much more accessible.

One thing I don't miss is the gun physics, BC2's are MUCH better. The existence of bullet drop is very evident and pretty easy to compensate for now. Its no longer the guessing game it was in BF2. The same goes for leading a target when sniping. Once you get used to the rifle your using you can easily drop a guy from half way across the map with one shot. The snipers rifles are just much more intuitive now. My only complaint at all with any of the weapons in the game are the people using rocket launchers as there main weapon. It just feels cheap as they fly so fast you really have no time to react when you actually see it coming. Shotguns range also seems unreasonably short, unless your using sabot rounds you pretty much need to be with in spitting distance to drop someone.

The destructable environments are also a very nice improvement to the series, its extremely satisfying to lob a 40mm grenade into the wall below a window to take out the guy whos been camping there. It really adds a ton to the game play. The constantly changing environment just makes it much more fun. I've heard people complain about the smaller map sizes and teams but really this is a non issue. Everything is perfectly proportioned to make the game even more action packed then any prior games in the series.

Yes, hopefully a minimum arming distance for the rocket launchers and 40mm GL will be added to stop those who insist on using them as shotguns. The rockets and 40mm GL definitely have their place for taking out the building campers who would otherwise get annoying, but they just need to be nerfed for short range combat - but on the other hand I suppose it's realistic, if you get hit by a rocket point blank then it woule be goodnight, and although it;s not a sim, a certain realism needs to be kept.

Another +1 for me. Loved all the battlefield games and this tops them off. Run into a building and hide and all of a sudden its coming down around you. In response to the poster who complained about tanks needing loads of shots.... Get behind the tank where the armour is weaker and if you have unlocked the high explosive perk then you can 1 shot it if lucky and defo do it in 2. Tanks armour is on the front and sides.... My mate just got his platinum star on the noob tube - the *anker. Currently working my way thru all guns to get a bronze star on each but it has to be the m95, the m60 or the xm8 as my fave guns.
Go buy BFBC2 woohoo! I miss the jets tho but if we had jets there would be no map left within a couple of mins, and choppers need to be able to fly higher!

I think it says a lot about the game that I would struggle to pick favourite weapons. Each has its own pros and cons for different maps and different strategies. Except the AUG for assault that I have managed to find no love for thus far.

Usual suspects for me to be wielding are..

Assault: xm8, AN94, M416 or M16A2 based on the openness of the map - F2000 honourable mention after a very nice round last night
Medic: xm8 lmg or MG36 - m60 is banned on one of our servers due to opinion on it being overpowered
Recon: Always a shotgun, 870, neostad or occassionally SPAS, almost always with the 12g slugs.

And I'm yet to really get to grips with the engineer class..

I think I hate the 40mm GL more than the rocket launchers. At least the rocket launchers take a while to reload, and you can't really shoot them point blank or you blow yourself up. The 40mm GL can be used point blank and shot at a person, like all the Call of Duty games. It would be funny if they made it longer to reload the 40mm to the time the rockets take. At least the 40mm users would die alot more.

Yes, the armor behind the tank is weaker. I found this as well and it only takes maybe 2 shots with a rocket if you hit it right. The Bradley also only takes 1 C4 bundle, which I found last night. It makes it easier to plant and run.

If you get a platinum star for the 40mm GL you are one of many elite noob tubers and should be beaten in a parking lot. haha. These are secondary weapons and really take no skill to even use. It would be funny if they took away the ability to resupply the secondary weapons from the Ammo box.

I find this as well, so much to choose from. The All kit weapons are a GREAT feature. Here are my faves.

Assult: XM8, M416, AN94, and G3( I like this because it removes the tube and replaces it with C4, very handy at times)
Medic: XM8 LMG, M60 (yeah yeah I know but it just rocks the hot totty and should be nerfed a bit.), USAS-12, Neostead
Engineer: Mostly the G3, or a shotgun of choice. I use all of the secondary weapons and focus on killing vehicles. AT mines and rockets.
Recon: M24, the only rifle I really have used. I also use the USAS-12, neostead, and sometimes a G3. Motion mines are used heavily.

Get the grips with the Engineer kit? What do you mean? No really sure how to use it? I use it most in Conquest maps when attacking or guarding flags. Defend by throwing down AT mines, they stay there the entire game unless they are detonated. Using the extra explosives perk really helps and is what I usually enable. The Gustav is great for destroying building. The RPG and the other guided rocket are good for vehicles. The RPG is pretty multi purpose though. AT mines are you friend in the maps with ALOT of vehicles. You want to place then in area that they won't accidentally be detonated by fire. I place them in water so you can't see them on near debris or shadows. The SMG's are good for close combat. For example, plant some AT mines near a flag and sit in a bush and wait, or charge through buildings.

If its like BF2, tanks will have less armor in the lower-rear part of the tank and the rear treads. I haven't really experimented yet though, although its clear some spots will cause a tank to blow in two hits instead of three.

Personally, I prefer the third AT gun (the one you can control) instead of the Gustuv; maybe its because I was a top AT player in BF2...[I was the guy who was expected to take down two tanks at the same time by himself, and did more often then not 😛 ]

As for kits, I haven't gotten far gun wise yet:

Engineer: M1A1 [Better accuracy then most early SMG's avaliable]
Asssault: XM8 [Early on, its the most balenced gun for any kit], M16 [Enough said]
Medic: XM8 LMG [Early], M60 [Later on]
Recon: M24/M95 [depends on prefernce], SAIGA [short range auto shotty + motion sensor = win]

Alot comes down to preference; I favor accuracy for longer-range kills, some people prefer pure power in their guns.

I like the 3rd one for longer range tank distruction because you can keep it on target. The Gustav is good against infantry and short range tasks. The RPG and Gustav have an advantage as you can point shoot and hide immediately. The 3rd you have to keep your weapon trained on the target until it hits. I haven't really found a good use for the tracer darts. What exactly do they do? They are compatible with the RPG and Gustav, but do they help it aim if the target moves or is off? Or do they help deliver more damage. I find it hard to plant a tracer dart and get back to shoot. I sure can't rely on someone to plant it for me. Who wants to carry that thing instead of a pistol?
