Is it ok to splice sata power cables to extend them

We have a new power supply for my sons PC. The power connector on the new supply is a straight one,we need it to be 90*. Can I cut and splice the old 90* connector onto the new supply cable harness?

you can, I assume you are soldering and using heat shrink over the joints, and talking about the 20/24pin connector?

I'm sorry I should have been a little more specific, I need the connector that powers the hard drive to be 90*

I assume it's still ok ( yes I will solder and heat shrink the connections). Is that correct.

Ah, I suppose you can splice them too, but you can also buy converters for them too:

I've seen power extension cables with right angles on the end too.

Might want to take a look at the old psu, it may have them
