[SOLVED] Is it possible for a graphics card to develop coil whine after years of use?

My ASUS Strix GTX 1070 started to have coil whine in games even with V Sync enabled at 60 FPS.

Is it possible for a GPU to develop this over time and should I be worried?

Yes, coil whine can be developed over time. Only thing to worry about is the noise it makes and how much you want to tolerate it.
