Question Is my motherboard compatible with this ssd

I have a PRIME B460M-A motherboard, I bought a m.2 ssd but it didn’t work, now I’m buying the Samsung 980 ssd and I wonder if it’s compatible with my motherboard

What was the first drive?

Slot closest to the CPU should accept both SATA and NVMe drive. The other slot is PCIe only.

Do note: M2_1 shares bandwidth with SATA6G_1. When M.2_1 runs SATA mod, SATAG_1 will be disabled.

The 980 should work in either slot.
