Hi guys not sure is this is the right section but at any rate i need some advice on weither or not it would be pratical to upgrade my componets at this time or if i should hole out untill the new processors are released in 2011.

Im using my computer for playing games. I tend to get the latest above 8.5 rated games that come out.

From the reviews ive been looking at it looks like for pratical sense i will be fine and able to run max settnigs in most games, but i couldent really find any good comparisions of my pc set vs a modern one.

My current build

O.S. Windows 7 pro

Case: Antec 900

CPU: E8400 over clocked to 4.050 stable with Thermalright 120 extreme cooler

Memory: 4 1gb 1066 ocz memory dimms.

Mother board: gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l

GPU: evga gtx 480

Power supply: ocz 1200 watt (designed for 2 graphics cards)

Hard Drives: 2 750gb samsung 3gb/s sata drives

What im looking to upgrade to

O.S. Windows 7 Pro

Case: haf x 942

CPU: i7-930, buy adapter kit to use my thermal right 120

Memory: 6gb ddr 2000 (only 20 dollars more than 1600 so meh)

Mother board: Asus Rampage 3

GPU: keep current gtx 480, and maybe add a second one down the road

Power supply: keep current

Hard drives: 2 1tb 6gb/s sata drives

Solution
I'd wait. Games are mostly GPU driven, so you shouldn't be having any issues right now. Besides, the Rampage is a waste of money when a board that's $160 cheaper is just as good (Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R).
