Is this a low 3D Mark score?

For some reason i have a low 3d Mark score. On the default settings i am getting 7497 3d Marks. With the settings maxed out I am getting 5492 3d Marks. Are these low scores?
Here are my comp specs, hopefully they provide some help.

P4 2.4b
Gigabyte 8IHXP2
512 MB Kingston PC-1066
GV-9700 PRO
West. Dig. 80 GB SE

I dont think any of the other specs would make a difference. Considering this is only about 4 times better than my old Voodoo 3 PCI on 3d Mark i am not to thrilled about it. Most likely this is a simple problem to fix, i am still a newbie with limited experience so try to be nice. Thank you for the help.

Sorry forgot about this, im running Catalyst v3.0 with DirectX 9.
Edited by BigBiggist on 01/05/03 07:29 PM.

7000 3DMarks is way way too low for an R9700 Pro. Plus you have a fast system too. Run the benchmark in it's default. Don't change anything. Also close all programs running in the background. Be careful what you close, some are system programs that shouldn't be removed.

Make sure you have the patch installed for 3Dmark 2001SE. It sounds much too low, I am getting 10,000 with an athlon 2400+ and a radeon 8500le overclocked. Also could be a driver related issue of some kind.

definitely waaaay too low. I got just over 14k with a p4 2.53, 512 corsair pc2700 (you are running rambus which should be considerably better in 3d) and a 9700pro.

That is default settings which are 1024x768x32 no AA

make sure you aren't forcing Anti-Aliasing or Aniscopic Filtering in the ATI control panel.

As well as checking FSAA and AF are off, check your AGP drivers are correctly installed and your card is running in AGP 4x (or 8x) mode, not stuck to PCI.

OMG im so stupid. Yeah it was the control panel, i didnt even think that that would be an issue. Everything was set to quality and not performance. Im comin in at around 14,400 now. No wonder it was so low, all the settings were maxed with 6x AA and 16X aniso, even the textures were maxed. Well, that explains that. Thanks alot for the help everyone.
