Is this future proof ?

Currently, the only boards that are future proof are the one's with PCI-E 3.0 slots and are LGA 1155 sockets only because once Ivy Bridge processors come out, they will be the only processors that support PCI-E 3.0 (if you don't have an Ivy Bridge CPU, but you have PCI-E 3.0, your slot will be running at PCI-E 2.0).

So in conclusion, currently you need a board with LGA 1155 socket and (a) PCI-E 3.0 slot(s) for it to be future proof.
