[SOLVED] Just bough a new harddrive, makes weird noise

Hi, i bought a seagate 4tb ironwolf pro 7200 rpm nas drive, put it into my system, and whenever the drive is working hard, i hear subtle "banging". I suspect its the read/write head? Its super annoying. Or could it be a sign of malfunction?

Hi, thanks for info, I just added a sound file. The thing is that its fine until i move lots of data. I ve got nothing important on the drive, just games. And the drive is brand new, never used, never opened

Noises are not necessarily bad.
It has moving parts...they make noise.

If it makes new noises over time, that can be bad.

Have you checked to see if it secure in the drive bay , get your data off it as soon as possible if it is as noisy as you say then it could be a bearing.

There are no clicks. Normal HDD operation sound.

Did you expect it to be silent as SSD?
I'm afraid that's not possible for a mechanical drive. They all make some level of sound.

Well my previous WD 1TB and Seagate Barracuda 2TB were silent, soo my expectation was different.
