edited but I am not so sure if its that part or the truth IMO about Kepler 680 that off put you.

now there i see a point. considering the heat the 480 generating and how noisy the fan had to be

but the GTX 680 is more like a Silent luxery sedan

No it was the Sexual comment that offended me. Not as much tho as it would have seen inappropriate to the Admins, so you can thank me for the warning....

But people say what they want, i know the 7970 and the 680 come neck to neck at times. the 680 beat the 7970. the 7970 oc beat the 680. What no one has done yet really tho. is actually overclock the 680 and compare 7970's oc. people just SLI 680's and go against 7970's in crossfire....which i agree doesn't make sense

Well the inefficiency of the GTX 480 is like a Harley and IMO the GTX 680 would be a Nissan GTR R-35 right HERE -

Well when each are clocked the same there really is not difference and the Radeon has more head room like I say GTX 680 is Fast real Fast I am not arguing the fact that it is hands down the best card Nvidia has created EVER but the fact remains the GTX 680 is super efficient and Nvidias Mid range card branded as there top end which I am not liking about it Radeon 7970 is just a bit more raw power like the difference between a Ford GT and Nissan Skyline GTR.

So Much Depends on Reputation – Guard it with your Life

Reputation is the cornerstone of power. Through reputation alone you can intimidate and win; once you slip, however, you are vulnerable, and will be attacked on all sides. Make your reputation unassailable. Always be alert to potential attacks and thwart them before they happen. Meanwhile, learn to destroy your enemies by opening holes in their own reputations. Then stand aside and let public opinion hang them.

Thanx for the lecture LOL. Moving Forward on the topic at hand GTX 680 Kepler and what do you think about it ?

All the overclocked reviews I've seen comparing the two are facing off the reference GTX 680 against the fastest possible non-reference 7970, each set to their highest possible overclock. When you do an "apples to apples" comparison of the two cards at the same clock rates, you're not going to get similar results because the architecture is different. To me, the traditional "which card is faster" argument is nearly pointless as they each have their individual strengths.

There is no evidence, at this point, to say that the GTX680 is a "Mid range card branded as there top end". The card has only been out for three days, let it breath a little before labeling it.

What cheeses me off about Kepler is the fact that they should have and could have just as easily put more power phases, 4gb Vram, two 8pins and a big 512 bit memory bus right off the hop but no now they forced us to wait or by now the lesser beast today we have to wait for the real deal tell the end of the year.

The truth changes when both the 680 and 7970 are both clocked at the same speeds and the performance gap is pretty well even as in they trade blows.

they are going to have 4gb of vrm GTX 680's....EVGA can confirm that for us. and also better power phases...

the current ones on market is reference...

Would someone please tell me what i am doing wrong when i post a Youtube video and someone else has to redo it for me?

Again, this video is comparing an overclocked 7970 to a reference GTX680.

This is Nvidia we're talking about. They have been traditionally late getting to the market for years and they spend a lot of time with new technology before they release it. I will say I was a little surprised by the bus not at least being 384-bit, but the fact that it is so competitive with the 7970 with some headroom to improve is just great news. In the PC market, you're always waiting for the next big thing to hit... it simply comes with the territory. There will always be a faster card on the horizon, a faster CPU or a new display that will make you want to sell what you have to upgrade. Nvidia is simply doing what they are supposed to, marketing their product in a manner that will best support their business.

This is why I said the argument over which card is faster simply doesn't apply. Buy the card that has the features you need most for your gaming experience.

Those version you speak of will not be the high end one I am talking about that Nvidia is keeping locked away remember you are talking of the lesser Nvidia GTX 680 that was meant to actually be the 670ti I am talking about the real deal big gun that Nvidia was supposed to release but instead called there mid range 670ti good enough and slapped on a 680 sticker to it so they could make more money with two releases instead of one.

I can really see Nvidia taking Kepler into the 700 series later this year and going with a similar marketing strategy of what AMD is using with the 7700, 7800, 7900. On Nvidia's side we'll see the 500, 600, 700 Series. Maybe not, just a thought... have no evidence to back this up.

No, obviously they will have a few cards in each series. The 500 series is already saturated, the 600 series may focus on the mid to high end, then the 700 series (coming later of course) would be for enthusiast and ultra-high end builds. It makes sense with their timeline they've setup and the GTX400-500 were both launched as the GF100+ cards. Why not have the GTX600-700 as GK100+ cards. Maybe later this year is a bit ambitious to think they would launch a new series, based on their history, but you never know. Like I said, just a thought...

There Nvidias next high end card is already out man the current GTX 680 is in reality just a rebranded at the last moment GTX 670 when Nvidia knew in solidarity where they stood with Radeons high end 7970 when it released. The real million dollar question is whether of not Radeon will have an answer for when Nvidia breaks out it's actual real high end card at years end not the current quasi pseudo highest end GTX 680 that is really a GTX 670 card.
