I was having a HP computer with a HP multimedia keyboard
and mouse running Windows 98. Then I bought a new CPU
with Windows XP and the XP detects my keyboard as
Microsoft standard keyboard without multimedia function.

So I tried to reinstall the driver with the HP
application recovery CD and it prompted me with a window
saying I have to look for a file called HIDUSB.sys. I
took the file from Windows 98 and installed a new driver
for the keyboard, and the computer asked me to restart
the computer.

After restarted, the mouse and keyboard doesn't work, I
don't why, please if you could help me.

Hi,

Go to HP website to download the latest XP drivers for the keyboard of your model.
