Hello,
I have a keyboard from a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. What would cause some keys to work and others don't work. Like the top rows work and the bottom does not. I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled and did no good. Could it be just a bad keyboard or the ribbon underneath may be loose?

Check in safe mode if still the same issue
Run custom test on keyboard http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsc/la_selector?c=la&l=es&s=gen
If it fails you need to get the keypad replaced..

Thank you so much for the info. I did the keyboard test and if I understood how to test it right it failed of course. Even in safe mode it wouldn't work. Good tool to have thank you.
