Question Laptop is burning through all SSD cables

I have owned a Lenovo Y700 for ~2 years. It only has 256GB of storage and one of the slots comes empty from factory.
I tried to connect my SSD to it twice but all cables (or whatever they are called) burnt immediately after power-up.

What can I do. I am really low on money is there any cheap way to solve this?
