First, I updated my keyboard driver, then I noticed in the driver manager, two HID keyboard device are under the keyboard tab. So i tried updating one of them, and it disabled my keyboard and number pad, whenever i tried to update one of those, it gave me "error code 9" Restarting or uninstalling the drivers did nothing, so the only way to fix it was uninstall the Synaptics driver, located under system devices, which fixed it. Still, two keyboard devices show up under the keyboard device in device manager. This is extremely irritating, hope someone can shed some light. Here is a picture of it. So you formatted the boot drive and installed fresh windows? If not you didn’t do a “clean” install
