Question Laptop Screen Repairs?

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E545 laptop running Windows 10 that the screen no longer works on. A couple months ago the left hinge cracked (which I gather is a relatively common issue with Lenovo laptops), so I JB-Welded it back together and it worked fine until recently. Today the screen started to flash between black and a normal picture, before finally going completely black. I connected the laptop to my TV and the picture shows up perfectly on the TV, but the laptop is still black, so I’m pretty sure it’s a hardware issue and not software. My guess is that one of the cables going to the screen got damaged from the broken hinge. I’ve tried doing some research online for repair costs, but all I can find is for broken screens and screen replacements. Does anyone know what a ballpark figure for an issue like mine should be? I don’t want to attempt fixing it myself, so I’m debating between having it repaired, or if that’s too expensive considering the laptop isn't that new anymore and also has some keyboard issues, either getting a new laptop or a monitor. I’m a university student taking my classes online so not having a computer for an extended period of time isn’t an option for me. Thanks!

I'm all for fixing and recycling but repairing laptop screens can get pretty pricey since it's one of the hardest things to repair in a laptop. Typically prices for labor vary on your area and the people who are charging you but it should be anywhere between 75-125$ and the laptop screen replacement (if you do need it - which I don't think you do. I'm pretty sure the cable just got disconnected a little) can cost another 50$, you can source this yourself on newegg.com. That's my ballpark figure, I would personally charge 75 since I know it will take about 2-3 hours to do it properly. Also you welded the hinge so that could add time to fixing it, you should undo that so that doesn't cause delay and thus extra charge.

So up to you if you want to resurrect that laptop or get a new one. If you do get a new one you can reuse the old one for some DIY project for the LOL's.
