[SOLVED] Laptop's HDD performs incredibly slowly!

I have an ASUS ROG - GL553vd

I get an average transfer rate of a little over 8 MB/s

My disk usage is almost always at 100%

Games take forever to load and stutter incessantly

I agree with Mandark, You can replace that drive with a 2.5in SSD up to 512GB according to Asus' website:

Of course, that means you will have to reinstall windows and all of your applications. But trust me, it will be worth it.

Replace it with a crucial mx500 (500gb), reliable cheap and if you using less tha 500gb clone the drive with minitool partition wizard

Can you retrieve a SMART report with CrystalDiskInfo?

Look for reallocated, pending or uncorrectable sectors.

Also the Disk tab of Resource Monitor wouldn't hurt to see either.
