I have a Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7 motherboard.
And I installed a Lexar NM710 M2 SSD on it.
But the SSD is not recognized in the BIOS.
So my question is: Should this SSD work on this motherboard? Or is the SSD broken?

I have found this article:
https://www.asrock.com/support/qa/Not Compatible Storage Device.pdf
But the Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7 is not mentioned here.

So more specs about the SSD:
Lexar NM710 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe SSD
500GB NM710 M.2 2280 PCIe G4x4

In many cases BIOS doesn't show NVME drive unless it's bootable but you should see it in Device manager and Disk management.
Other possibility is that having a SATA disk in specific port it invalidates M.2 port. Check MB manual.

The drive is probably dead. The only time that my BIOS ever failed to detect an NVMe drive was when I had a 2TB NVMe overheat and fail on me. Coincidentally, it was also a Lexar. If I were you, I would either return it to where you got it for replacement or contact Lexar directly. To their credit, they gave me a full refund because they didn't have a replacement for me so they do stand behind their products.
