Question Linux Mint VM not playing any videos in Firefox

So I updated and installed all of the latest packages from the update manager. However, I still can't play any videos in FireFox. In YouTube, I get a playback ID: LIRJWJYYP-HGZnGI and for any jwplayer, I get an error code 102630.

I installed the codec FFmpeg but that did not change enything. I installed the package 'browser-plugin-freshplayer-pepperflash:i386' but the issue is still persistent. I know it might be a codec issue, but what codec should I install?

When you boot live-CD version, can you play videos? This will tell whether its software or hardware issue.

Yes. Using Mint 19.1 live-CD version, I can play videos. I even did a clean VM install of 19.1 and I can play videos. Look like everything is working fine on 19.1, so to save some headaches I'll just use 19.1. Thanks for the feed back though.

At time of install, there is a question to install 3rd party codecs for assorted media/streaming services...

Presumably, this option was selected for install?
