Where do you find the list of applications that fire up automatically when
you turn the computer on.
In particular QuickTime has installed itself on my computer and I can not
find how to stop it loading itself up.

Many thanks

Right-click on the QuickTime icon in the system tray.
Select QuickTime Preferences and remove the checkmark
next to "QuickTime system tray icon", then close the window.

Next, go to Start > Run and type: MSCONFIG , and hit enter.
Look under the Startup tab for "qttask" and uncheck the box
next to it, then click "apply" and reboot.

Now launch your Windows Media Player
and from the Toolbar select: Tools > Options > File Types,
click on "Select All", then click Apply.

This procedure should solve your problem.
