A long time ago I bought the MX518. I absolutely loved the mouse, but I accidentally fried it (long story). Then I bought a desktop and it came with a pretty decent mouse so I decided to use that instead of replacing my MX518. Now I want to replace this mouse with MX518 or G5. They are both similar in shape and size, but G5 looks better (imo) and its DPI is 400 higher. My only concern is about the scroll wheel on the G5 (talking about the blue updated version here). Before I bought my first MX518, I tried out the G9 and I hated it for how the mouse wheel is so hard to click, the MX518 was perfect. I'm just wondering if the mouse wheel on G5 is as easy to click as the MX518. I play COD so I press the wheel a lot to throw grenades.

Thanks for your help.

I'm using the G500, which is the newest version of the G5. I highly recommend it. The design is essentially identical, but more to your question, the wheel is very easy to click. The same is true of the wheel on the G5, which I used to have.

I picked up the g500 today and it is takign a little getting used to moving from a g5. It is a little different and higher dpi and more dpi settings. Less of the weights compared to the g4 and a 3rd thumb button. I do like how the scroll wheel can be released to spin freely.
