Hello, my current cpu fan is faulty and I’m looking to replace it, but I need help looking for coolers that can actually clear over my vengeance ram (height 51mm). I also don’t want to use an AIO since they make me nervous. The rest of my build is:
GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 motherboard
and my case is the Corsair Crystal 460X RGB ATX Mid Tower, which supports 170mm coolers. Thank you to everyone in advance.

I know what you mean.
Had to throw in hyper X fury's to clear a coolermaster 212 on my old Asus P9X79.
The fury's are only 35mm, and the coolermaster allows some 12mm free space above it.
Clearly not enough for the vengeance.

Would it be an option for you to offset the mounting of the fan, using strips ?
Or fitting the fan opposite side on the cooler element ?

Offsetting the fan is something I've been looking at but seems unlikely to work with larger coolers, like the dark rock 4. However with the cm 212 this seems like it could work.

Do you have a budget for the cooler?
What cpu do you need to cool?

The very best, I think is the noctua NH-D15s which is about $80.
It is a large 160mm cooler.
The s suffix noctua coolers are redesigned with two extra compatibility components.
a) they clear tall ram heat spreaders.
https://noctua.at/en/nh-d15s/specification
The tallest vengeance pro is 51mm tall, the noctua clears ram up to 65mm.
b) Some graphics cards with backplates mounted in the first pcie slot can impavt air coolers. The s coolers are offset a bit to avoid this.

I'd say my budget is around £100, anything way over and I might aswell buy new ram.

As for the noctua, this seems like a good choice. My gpu is well below the cooler so no issues there.
