Hey guys,

I am looking for your guys' comments on what motherboard and processor I should get or let me know what you think. So my computer even though I have 4GBx2 RAM, the motherboard's 2nd Ram slot decided to die and I found out that what's causing my problem which is "8GB Installed (3.96GB usable)" is the 2nd slot since I placed and removed the rams on the slots and I came to the conclusion that it's the 2nd slot.

I plan to get a new motherboard to have my computer fixed and start playing games but I don't have enough knowledge on computer parts. Im looking for a good motherboard within my budget which is $150 if possible and also keeping in my that it will be compatible with the GPU and RAM sticks I currently have.. Im also looking for a new processor that will be compatible in my system if necessary. I appreciate y'all's replies.

Here's my specs

You could go either for
- GIGABYTE GA-F2A68HM-H FM2+ AMD A68H SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard $47 budget motherboard with PCIe 3.0 and SATA 3 6Gbps allows overclocking (no VRMS heatsinks though)>> https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128763
- Or : ASUS ROG CROSSBLADE RANGER FM2+ AMD A88X : Enthusiastic grade motherboard priced at $155 >> https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132255&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-VigLink2-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=12087162&PID=8167372&SID=ji5koy91g0000a1705278&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=afc-VigLink2
Both motherboards are compatible with your Processor and Memory.
By the way Consumer Windows 32-bit (XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1) can only utilize 4GB of memory despite having 8 GB of memory installed.

I mean I don't know much but how I got to my conclusion that it could probably be the 2nd ram slot on my motherboard is that, I tried turning on my computer with the 2nd ram on the 2nd slot removed and it worked perfectly fine but when I put back in the in the 2nd ram on its respective slot and removed the 1st, and I turn it on, the mouse and keyboard and tower has their lights turned on although it wasnt showing any display. I might wrong on this tho but yet thats how I got into my conclusion.

Thank you for your reply. I'll look into your suggestions. On the last part, if you're saying that my system can only run 4GB even though 8GB is installed, I don't think so because i have been using this computer for a year with 8GB RAM completely working but yea then it randomly decided to rebel resulting to this RAM issue. Thank you!

you have a decent gpu

buying a fm2 setup is madness

since you want to reuse your dd3 ram...

look at the used market where you live and pick up a z97 mobo with a i5 4690k

you REALLY should sell your a10, and ram
and get something like this:
