So I'm about to get the oculus rift s
And finally decided to upgrade my pc before that.
My specs:
Cpu: amd fx 8300
Gpu: gtx 960 4gb (I oc'd it)
Ram: 8 gb Ddr3 ram
Motherboard: asrockDE3/U3S3
Psu: 450 Watt
don't remember who it's from

My budget is 530€ (580$)

I want to buy 8 more gigs of ram
And a new gpu. (possibly the rtx 2060?)
But I don't want it to get bottleneck by my cpu

Also is my motherboard compatible with the rtx 2060?
Also also: I use my pc for : video editing, gaming, video recording and 3d animating/rendering and also drawing.

Even the original 1600 is a vast improvement, over your FX. Looking at the German PCPP, it looks like the 2600 is priced better, than the 1600. I would not go below a 6c/12th CPU like the 1600, at this time.

You could do something like this, and reuse your storage, and case. I do recommend an SSD, if you already do not have one, though. It does not increase FPS, but load times, and system responsiveness are vastly better.

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor (€122.81 @ Alza)
Motherboard: ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (€74.98 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (€74.62 @ Amazon...
For VR you'll most defiantly need a better CPU. I'm not sure what country you are in exactly but Ryzen just released the Ryzen 1600 AF (part number YD1600BBAFBOX) which is essentially a Ryzen 2600 and it retails at least here in the US for 85 USD. It is without question the best budget CPU available right now and will be a huge improvement over your FX 8300 and give you a good upgrade path.

You can then couple it with a cheap B450 motherboard such as the ASRock B450M and I would then suggest 16GB of DDR4 3200mhz or great dual channel (two 8GB sticks sold together) RAM if you do plan on VR.

As far as GPU the 2060 Super is a good card but you can also look at the RX 5700XT which may give you more frames in certain games however you will have to deal with AMDs terrible drivers as of late.

You can download SteamVR Performance Test which will benchmark your current system specs for VR however as I said I believe your FX CPU will be a major draw back to do their overall poor gaming performance and if you choose to stick with it you'll most likely have to turn down graphically settings quite far in order to maintain frame-rate required not to get a headache, motion sickness and just overall unpleasantness that low/inconsistent frame-rate VR can bring.

I'm in Austria and we don't have the 1600 af yet
Is the ryzen 5 1600 a good alternative to that?
Oh and would the gtx1660 ti also work
(with the rtx 2060) I'll only be able to afford 8 gb of Ddr4 ram
