Hello,
I am looking for some advice and guidance on upgrading my graphics card. I am aware that I will probably need to upgrade my power supply, motherboard and RAM. I am hoping to get a RTX 4090/4080, though I may just go for a 3080/3090 as there r some really good deals lately. I am based in the UK.
I will not be upgrading for 2/3 months. But I may wait longer if I need to in order to get a 4090/4080.
I mostly use my pc for gaming, mostly strategy and resource management type games, but also for streaming and internet usage. I am aware a 4090 is massive overkill for strategy games but I may consider switching from my Xbox series X for action games if I get a powerful graphics card. Also I am upgrading as I am expecting a little money so hoping to future proof as much as possible as I dont know when the opportunity will arise again.
I am thinking that a 4080 or even a 3080 may be sufficient but will see how the land lies in a couple of months when I am in a position to upgrade.
I currently use a 4k tv with a 60 refresh rate though I will be buying an 8k tv with 120 refresh and VRR. I dont have any interest in overclocking.
I am interested in hearing views on which of these cards would be most appropriate but also what parts must be upgraded and which parts can be kept (and any bottle necking or performance issues that may arise from doing so). I am ideally hoping for a 4090/4080 but I am not rich so hoping to do all this on as small a budget as possible. I dont mind some minor bottle necking of the GPU as I could always potentially replace the problem parts at a later date.
Thanks in advance.
