Hello everyone, I have this problem where I get 100 CPU usage and low gpu usage when playing games such as Apex Legends.

My set up --> https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/45486039
Any suggestion on what I should do?
This is really irritating, and this randomly happened, didnt touch anything download anything malicious etc, etc.
It was never like this before, I dont know what to do, I already reset it 3 times, nothing worked.

Solution
Newer games, like apex, are using more and more cpu power as opposed to gpu power.
And your gpu is overpowering the cpu.
To check this, you can try upping the resolution and seeing that the fps barely changes.
To fix this, either get a newer and stronger cpu, or try to lower game details that the cpu might control.

Alright thanks :))

What are your temps? CPU isn't boosting and could be thermal throttling.

How do I check that?
Install HWmonitor, and run it in the background while playing to see maximum temperatures reached.

You got a bad CPU score because you have high background activity. I have a bunch of runs on my old 4770 that score a few points higher (on the single core test for a reference point) than yours, but with 1%, 2%, etc background activity. Low GPU usage high cpu usage is expected on that cpu/GPU combo. If you want to even it out, run in higher resolutions. At 1080p, the 4770 and my RX 570 would be at 100% usage. If you're weakening the weakest link in your setup (with high background activity), it's going to hurt performance more.

OPs CPU not hitting proper boost frequency is more detrimental to performance than the background usage.

I don't see where we've established what the actual turbo boost speeds were, because we don't have a HWmonitor screenshot showing maximum frequencies, only the average boost speed on ubm. For example, on this run of my 4770, it gave an average boost speed of 3.7Ghz, even though my 4770 has no problem hitting 3.9Ghz single core.
