If it's a console mod to PC, there is not reason it would need more than the minimum requirements to run at the equivalent console settings. To say otherwise means the PC version is badly optimized version.

Now, it wasn't enough that we are bound to windows with Microsoft DirectX in PC gaming, we also need to buy crapocards from nVidia or feel the power of 8087 instruction set...

I m not so sure about nvidia this time after the incidents of splinter cell double agent with geforce 8800.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Something tells me it doesn't need to be that intense! Sounds like the developer got together with NVIDIA to find a "solution" to their slow selling video cards.

Before anyone whines about only DX9, you can thank MS and the Crapbox 360 for that. The XP support will die off though. Vista and Vista SP2 (Windows 7) use the same kernel.

if it needs a quad core for the recommended requirements. i can foresee amd selling alot more quad cores due to their relative inexpensiveness heck a 2.9 quad for 99 bucks and it meets that portion of the requirements.

Just went through a bit of "gameplay" action, and you can tell this is not just about pretty textures and models, it seems that, as it was the case with Mafia 1, the game universe it's simply amazing.

It's like being on freaking Chicago several decades ago and everything seems to be "alive". Makes me wanna game again ...

That is rediculous. If the games can run on consoles, there should be no reason why the system requirements should be this high. The game better have insanely good graphics in order to justify graphics requirements being this high...

Mafia Wars on Facebook? That's funny, there is only ONE Mafia, and NOTHING on Facebook could match it!

As long as the story is good like someone else posted, this game will be great. Mafia is easily in my top 20 games of all time list.

kinda impressed by it's need for a quad core but the graphics requirements are a little outrageous imho! 480 + 285.. Top tier single gpu cards from both the current and last gen of cards?

Yea, wth is up with those graphics requirements. Any good game engine doesn't need a super-computer to run it. (Example: Source Engine, and even Dice's Frostbite engine)

[citation][nom]Ciuy[/nom]the next benchmark game , believe me !!![/citation]

With Physx on it will be an nVidia only benchmark.

I have a question for the gurus. I have a crossfire capable (2 GPU slots) motherboard (not SLI) and a Geforce 8800GTS, can I keep the Geforce as a physx-dedicated device and install a Radeon for graphics?

[citation][nom]halls[/nom]But can it play Mafia II?[/citation]

Yes, its like the changing of the guard, but in this case the game.

not too often to they recommend the fastest card on the market to play the game, usually its a notch or 2 down...
