Mana Clash questions

Hello!
First, the Oracle text of the card in question:

Mana Clash
{R}
Sorcery
You and target opponent each flip a coin. ~ deals 1 damage to each player
whose coin comes up tails. Repeat this process until both players' coins
come up heads on the same flip.

My question is simple: is each 1 point of damage dealt by Mana Clash a
separate occurrence? This is important for such cards as Circle of
Protection: Red (is one activation in response to Mana Clash enough to
prevent all damage ? I guess not), Tok-Tok, Volcano Born (will it DOUBLE
(my bet goes here) the eventual damage or just increase it by 1?), etc.

I think each single point of damage is separate - especially in light of the
ruling (somewhere in DCIJUDGE archives) stating that Lava Spike with spliced
Glacial Ray targeting the same player with Tok-Tok on the table will deal 7
damage ((3+1)+(2+1))...

Regards,
Arkady.

Yes, and Urza's Armor will be quite effective against Mana Clash.

Okay. Before reading further: all the damage is dealt during the resolution,
but one point (or possibly one pair of points) at a time.

Each point is separate. Gatherer notes this, actually:

*Oct 4, 2004 - Each point of damage is dealt separately, so if you are damaged
twice by this spell, each time is considered a separate time this source deals
damage.

So yes, each Circle: Red shield can prevent only one of the points, and
Tok-Tok effectively doubles the damage (1+1 = 2, repeatedly) just as well as
Furnace of Rath would. Two Tok-Toks (and a Mirror Gallery, of course) end up
tripling the damage; two Furnaces would quadruple it; etc.
