Hi have just finished my first build desktop and I was wondering what are the maximum settings I could run with my 2gb ATI Radeon 5450. Then computer is built for design not gaming but I would like to try some games on it (MW3) and see how it handles it. I have the latest drivers installed.

My specs are as follows:

Intel i5 2500K
Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 rev.2
Corsair 32GB 1600MHz CL10 DDR3 Vengeance Memory
Kingston new HyperX 3K ssd
Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA III 6 Gbps Internal 3.5 inch Hard Drive
2gb ATI Radeon HD 5450 graphics card
Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
650W Coolermaster GX RS650-ACAAD3 80+ Bronze
TP Link TL-WN881ND 300Mbps Wireless N PCI Express Adapter
Case -Fractal Design Define R3

Cheers 😀

^^ on a 15" screen

damn straight that ain't no gaming pc.

why 2GB? with such a lowly gpu it cannot utilise that at all...

15" screen? I have 2 24" 1080p LED monitors.

I just went for the one that had the most memory, I assumed it would make a difference.

The HD 3000 (the one integrated with your CPU) is actually more powerful than your 5450.

if you can still get a refund you should.

I'm afraid its too late to send it back, I would if I could.

Thanks for the help

i used that GPU and it barely plays medium settings at 1440x900

i had a 5450 too though it was 1gb model. trust me the 5450 is so weak and its memory interface and bandwidth is so low that it can barely utilize 512mb of ram.
i had to play games on 1024*768 on low settings in new games and on.medium settings in older titles.
i suggest you upgrade to a 6670 1gb which is much better than 5450 and can play most games on.high settings at 1280*1024 and on.low to medium settings on.1080p.
better yet get a 7750. amazing value . low power consumption .. high performance.

It is no assumption. If you bothered to click the link I took the pains to provide you would see all of the benchmarks that clearly show that your crappy 5450 is worse than intels onboard graphics.

enjoy your ignorance.

^^ HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

So what are you doing here on TOM's HARDWARE, one of the most benchmark filled sites around.

And what do you mean by "automated". Those are game benchmarks....

I like what you did there with the whole "your ignorant" for obtaining and using information and knowledge.
