Did read all the commets just that i would always have a nagging feeling of doubt without starting at the beginning. Doing things my way... But then i would say that!

Make sure you have SP2 installed to help the wireless as SP2 when you get it will change the settings and add new features and may help to get it to work at all.

please listen to exactly what I am saying in each post and reply quickly

btw Spybot told me about an assortment of start values that changed for pretty much all startup programs that I did have running b4

I am now stuck with my wifi card working and the CD is no help, autoplay is not working, neither is double clicking on the setup.exe in the CD

I seem to remember this card needing no seperate drivers: WHAT DO I DO NOW TO GET MY WMP54G to work?

im getting frantic, its not good

Well that makes a lot of sense to me right now. No further explanation needed.

If device manager says everything is installed there will be no yellow or red indicators.

If you still cannot connect to the internet, shut down the PC, pull your power from the cable or DSL modem, for 90sec, then repower it wait till the lights on the modem are lit, and restart the computer.

Yessir :)

OK Chill

You are learning fast! Spybot S&D has a resident and you should allow things when you first install windows but once on the internet you need to look things up i.e google the files S&D comes up with! I wish i was there to help!

I recommed doing a Fresh install of Windows (As my long post) and preparing it for the internet rarther than trying to close the drawbridge once you spot the invading troops (Malware)!!!

What you are saying is very nice and all but Im sure that 4ryan6 will agree that it is innappropriate.

Now that your pc seems ok im trying to get you to have a stable install of windows! Can you list your current probs again please Not going to bed untill you've fixed it cos im learning too.

What Happened?

About what now?

I followed your modem reset instructions (as if I had never reset my router)

OK, i got the same DAEMON Tools error as well as all of the numerous Spybot S&D notifications

However I have gotten no where in my quest towards getting my wifi card to work. I still have no control over looking for wifi networks (although i must say that my wifi card's activity light is blinking in 3shot bursts)

I dunno so far, looks to me as if a fresh reformat is needed. And no if no one gives me a reason to calm down I will not

THIS IS GETTING CONFUSING, I DONT NEED TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE LEARNING, ONLY:
I want to know that you are listening to the data that I am spitting out about what is going on.

Right now my Microsoft included Wireless Network Connect feature is dissapointingly missing, and I have no explanation for it.

THAT IS ALL

A fresh install, some water and asprin will all help. (if you do a reinstall) dont connect the card on the first boot

Young people can have heart-attacks too especially if you do sports or are fat (large?)

The asprin thins the blood preventing clots.

So health is the reason to calm down along with a greater understanding of the difficulties that face you (i.e a P.O.S Dell machine used for games)

My lord almighty you are vicious. Im not angry at you or really excited, just quite frustrated at my inability to find a solution for my issue.

While you can stay up all night, I had no sleep last night because of the same PC. We decided b4 that a full reinstall/reformat was unneccessary.
I would lose all of my data (not that its not all backed up), but it would be real annoying to do.

end

p.s. Dont you go calling my XPS a P.O.S dell used for gaming, its very well made in many ways and has lasted me well for years.

You're not helping, you're just being a pain in the ass, go play with yourself if you can find it!

Forget that Dickhead!

Didn't you say you have a Linksys router?

You may have to reset that up.

If your previous install was up to SP2 and your reinstall is only up to SP1, its got to be upgraded to SP2, but you should stil be able to setup the router to work.

Ive got a Linksys WMP54G PCI Wifi Card

A cheap crappy Verizon supplied router running the network

I did also order a buffalo wifi router with all of the parts but i havent even opened it for the obvious reasons

When you see the network icons in the sys tray are they red X'd out?

YES!!! THAT IS IT

good job... no sarcasm intended ok?

If they're X'd out they're not connecting in the computer itself

thus that means that I should do what?
