YAWN.... MS is messing with something that isn't actually broke, AGAIN.

yeah, the ribbon isn't so bad once you get used to it, even though some things are not as quick to access as it was before.

The only real reason for this though is to drive their phone OS sales with "familiarity" to the desktop system people use... IMHO... [EPIC] FAIL! Enough change for the sake of change or to drive sales of something I won't buy anyway, not even if it is a FREE upgrade when my current contract expires.

[citation][nom]therabiddeer[/nom]Oh look, its just like the simplistic design of facebook/twitter, even similar color scheme. I like the concept of going back to an actual window, but please dont be so heavily influenced by social media that you copy THAT much of them.[/citation]

Windows.... always trying to absorb the properties of some OTHER OS... Lesseee... the move of the trashcan to the bottom right in, what version was it, XP? (ala Apple's MAC-OS-?)

Windows.... borrowed from Mac-OS, which originally borrowed from a PARC Xerox Project. Hmmm... one trend still going on, fear to truly innovate, or just innovate in a direction that alienates current users.

I think the colors suck !!
And that is sad because Cyan happens to be one of my favorite colors!
I guess it is just the style of the logo as it shows no Artistic ability what so ever.

Just My Honest Opinion.

Funny how they still call it windows, since the Metro interface uses Tiles instead..... they named it windows after it uses windows in their GUI

Perhaps we should scrap the whole thing altogether and call it Microsoft Tiles 8?

Where's the Windows ME logo. I don't like how Microsoft has gotten people to forget about one of their most colossal failures, and I wish to bring it back to the forefront.

Tom you left out the Windows ME Logo, as terrible as it was it had a logo too! But I'm glad MS finally figured out is was the multiple color Logo that slowed Windows down and went with a simple single color for Win 8.......... 🙂

I guess it's just me but I like the new logo and it's simplicity. I'm also unsure why this is such a big deal, MS has changed it's logo many times over the years, why is this suddenly a big deal? Must be nothing more important to talk about than this...

Windows 8 will give you four different BSODs at the same time nyugga! Considering they probably spent more then I make all year on that logo, it sucks ass i think the windows xp logo is better very similar to the windows 7 logo and they were by far the most popular of the bunch. A logo change is not going to get me to shell out another 100-200 bucks for a unfinished product.

[citation][nom]Rockdpm[/nom]Looks more like a flag, dag whats the name of that country............[/citation]
You are right....Finland?? Hint:Nokia. MS is gonna buy Nokia for sure.

This looks like shitty clip art from Print Shop 2.0! What the hell is wrong with them. COLORS for God's sake! I cannot believe they paid money for that crappy look. And that aquamarine bullshit color! What is up with that? Looks like an "all electric" 1950's kitchen.

I will stick with 7 because of that alone.

[citation][nom]Steve Balmer Jr[/nom]I'll admit that my only graphics design skill is photoshopping people's heads onto different bodies, but even I could've came up with that logo, or quite possibly even a better one.[/citation]

[citation][nom]stoogie[/nom]I could create a better logo within 2 minutes.[/citation]

Please do. Then your arguments will be valid. Maybe not good, but valid.
