Microsoft: We Need to Step Up PC Gaming

Perhaps Microsoft should look into buying Gametap.

When games like Call of Duty 3 came out for Xbox only, along with others, and not for the PC I knew Microsoft was trying to get us to shell out more money for a console to enrich their pockets, as my pockets become empty, when I had a perfectly good gaming PC at the time. Therefore, I determined I would never buy a Xbox period. If that meant I had to play my old games of Quake 4, Fear, FarCry, Call of Duty 1 and 2, Brothers at Arms, and the older Medal of Honor WWII games on my computer until I could do them in my sleep, then so be it.

If Microsoft wants us (or at least me) to play console games, they need a special like "Free console with game purchase", then I, with my perfectly good gaming PC, might considering going to console and be a future purchaser of their console games.

If I think of MS it is related to command and conquer old Romans vs Greeks type games and could never get interested in Halo / Xbox.

Would be nice if there was a game produced that you could actually play and worth paying for since 2005 so the gaming industry can come out of the dark ages.

Where have all the decent UT2k4, FEAR, GRAW1 coop-online, Half Life games gone that you can and likely still want to play unlike the other crap out there 4 hours irritation MW2 junk.

I hope that all the other halo gaames stay on the red rring sit n spin. As for GOW, epic has given pc gaming, the entire reason thry exist, the single biggest insult this last summer. So.... F them and their duck hunt with croutching game.

PC's have always been the ultimate platform for gaming. I saw Halo Reach running at a friends house and was not impressed at all by the graphics or the game play.

Fallout New Vegas should be awesome on PC. I'm probably going to buy a new video card just for this game.

No thanks. Microsoft should just stick with console gaming and leave PC gaming to companies like Valve and indie developers and just get out of the way. One thing the PC doesn't need is more shovelware console ports courtesy of lazy developers (who will then wonder why nobody buys their games; DUH! It's because we hate your underdeveloped console ports!)

What Microsoft needs is a new, genre-defining game like Halo for the PC, something so mind-blowing addictive that console gamers will drop their controllers and buy new PC gaming rigs with Windows 7 pre-installed.

Amen, or just bring the entire Halo series to the PC along with Gears of War. They do that and you'll see MS games sales go up. compared to other types of games FPS is still the best in my opinion

Microsoft has being blowing sunshine up PC Gamers butts for as long as I can remember. When will they actually hire a gamer who knows gaming! and not some shmoe who got out of college who only played console games. MS get a clue, please for the love of PC GAMING!

What will work: Ditching the GFWL UI and just submitting to the vastly superior Steam UI.

What will not work: Pouring millions of dollars into developing a new UI that will remain vastly inferior to Steam.

Couldn't agree more, I've got both ODST and Reach for 360 and can't stand playing on them for more than a few minutes knowing how much more fluid and entertaining it is playing on the PC.

I'll believe Microsoft's PR when I see them porting the entire Halo series onto PCs, not until then.

PC Fanboys prefer to have a cry and make digs at people who enjoy consoles. I play games on both, and enjoy both.

Would be nice to see more comments that can't just be translated into "waah, but Mummy I don't wanna play on a console"
