[citation][nom]ram1009[/nom]You can bet the farm that any PC games Microsoft releases will only run on W7. That's just who they are. Why would anybody want to play a game on a box with so few options as consols have and is unable to upgrade the cpu/gpu to maintain currency? It's beyond me.[/citation]

Because not everyone likes to play with a keyboard and mouse and certain games are better played on a console then on a pc. Which is why Madden ditched the pc market back in 09 and made the title for only consoles, due to the fact the sports games on pc sell a lot less then on consoles.

I'd be insulted if I wasn't so pissed. They could have put an x86 processor in the Xbox to start with, making it relatively easy to release versions of games on both platforms. Supporting both platforms in one single action as opposed to making one the red-headed stepchild of the two gaming platforms.

It's no surprise that Xbox live enjoys a thriving community while games for windows does not. If you want to go online with an Xbox...you have to use Xbox live, whereas with a windows based PC, You can connect to any service, because they have to compete, they have a problem. It's not all going to fall into line for them. I love the lip service, too little too late consideration in the wake of Chris Taylors little pep talke.

You do realize if they can't find a way to make huge piles of cash on this they'll pretty much abandon it again? And they probably won't because they have to compete software side (not windows obviously). Apart from providing support for a platform that they're pretty much locked into supporting anyway, I'm not sure they have anything to offer PC gamers at all.

that's easy stop making games for consoles and maybe after it goes platinum you port it to the pc. the pc is sooooo much more capable then any console. medal of honor is a perfect example of how it should be done, make the game for pc, and the less difficult stuff can be ported to consoles. i don't like my chopped in half games being the full game and unexpandable. turn consoles into pc's, the cell phone is going to destroy console gaming pretty soon. cripes even farmville has outsold the entire xbox existance!

Consoles are getting more and more complex. Today they're basically proprietary PCs wih limited functionality. And the 360 with its RRoD was worse than any PC hardware. 10 years ago console players looked down on PC gamers, because you have to install stuff. Now they're installing themselves all the time. They even have hardware incompatibilty between different revisions of consoles (see Halo:Reach) and because of different HDD sizes.

With Steam the PC has its own version of XBL with similar functionality. They just need to push it more/get more games on it. It is so neat to see a friend play a game and just drop in or chat with them. I only wish SC2 would be on Steam too instead of doing its own thing..it only separates the playerbase.

But what they really need to do is to stop this ridiculous DRM-crap that some publishers try to pull off. (and then complain about poor sales on PC 😵)

They have to start making games for PC and not crappy consoles ports. I can't believe how many games have this "Press any key" title screen (and don't recognize a mouse click as key), are infested with checkpoints (no you can't save anywhere, because consoles don't support big save games) and have crappy graphics (low res textures, simplified geometry and just a few shaders to make it look a bit better)

And finally a dedicated PC GUI..most developers are lazy and only slap a few poor mouse controls on the console GUI..that is absolutely frustrating.

So true, just yesterday I watched the trailer for the new bioshock and they used a controller while recording it..it is soo painful to watch them turn, then aim up or turn and then run without autoaim no console player would survive. I'll never understand why people like that. "Here's a backpack it will make carrying stuff so easy..do you want it?" 'No I'll juggle everything on my arms with velcro' xD

Anyone that thinks consoles suck or PC gaming is the only way to play is a narrow minded fool. I have a sweet gaming rig and a 360 and a ps3. If you aren't rocking all 3 you are probably a fanboy who's narrow minded attitude is killing your gaming experience. Just think you could stop crying about consoles getting better games and PC ports sucking. Couldn't be happier that MS is focusing a little more on the PC.

Here is an idea. Drop Games For Windows LIVE. The 1st Halo on the PC is still played by thousands of people daily.

Games For Windows Live is broken sadly...proof? Load Gears of War on a fresh windows 7 install. Now install Halo 2. Good luck playing Halo 2.

[citation][nom]hellwig[/nom]Maybe they should have left Halo alone in the first place, and never bothered entering a console business that cost them billions.[/citation]
Actually, it has made them billions, but we wont let that get in the way of a good rant.

What Microsoft needs to do, (in the future of course), is release a console and an OS that can use a single unified game disk and/or digital download. Everyone can play against each other online as well. The only differance will be that for those who have more powerful PCs that are able the game will be able to play at higher res and take advantage of things like AA, so those who only want to game can buy a console, for those who want to be able to do all the computery stuff as well they buy a PC, but the game is the same for both.

hmm... i'm sorry but i dont really care about rather halo going on pc or not.
as for microsoft it just too little too late.
i got tons of game from steam already, unless there super killer game i dont think i would welling to deal more then one download publisher.
there just not one single "must have" game to push me getting MS Live.
make AAA game.. then i think about it. as for now, no thanks

The main issue is piracy! Game developers know this and tend to go where the money is...consoles! True PC platform is the best but what good is it if many games are played for free because of easily hacked copies? Only solution is to code a anti-piracy software but gamers tend to bitch about it. So what is a game developer to do?

Personally I have had issues with GFWL because 1/2 the time it fails and I cant even play the damn game! A more solid anti-piracy solution is needed overall.

MS gaming division: We need to step up PC gaming.

MS CEO : Yes begin developing kinect games for PC too you mean right? PC would love troublesome motion sensing games I think. Yes begin right away

MS gaming division: Uhhhh..ok...suuure

[citation][nom]scook9[/nom]Many of us are still waiting for Halo 3, ODST, and REACH on PC....as well as Gears of War 2 (and 3 when it comes out)How about you just stop shitting on your entire pc fanbase....[/citation]

I like what you said +20 points for you. 1 It's not enough I'm one of the suckers who is still waiting..

I've been posting this for the past few years here.

MS has been screwing its customers by helping to KILL OFF gaming for Windows.

Where is Alan Wake, Halo and the rest? If there are no AAA titles for Windows, then there is less need for a WindowsOS. Apple OS and Linux does productivity just fine. The need for $300~500 video cards just won't be needed anymore.

I'd like to see Microsoft bring more games to the PC. I enjoyed Halo on the PC even though I'd already played it on Xbox. I could deal without the games for windows system though...

the second people stop using two conflicting drm schemes(securom or some other log in service AND steam) for the same game is the day pc gaming will get better.
